The Revixit Aquinum project aims to enhance the archaeological heritage of the Roman city of Aquinum, in the Castrocielo area, as well as the historically connected castle of “Castrum Coeli” through ICT (Information and Communications Technology) tools. The main nucleus of the project is the so-called monumental complex of the Central Baths of Aquinum in the territory of Castrocielo, brought to light in the last ten years of archaeological excavations conducted on fields originally used for grazing, with the use of considerable resources by the Municipality of Castrocielo.
In order to enhance the assets involved, it is hypothesized that a broad intervention of communication and technological spectacularization can exponentially increase the reputation of the archaeological site of the ancient Aquinum, making it one of the most important archaeological attractions of Lower Lazio. As a principle of intervention, the widespread diffusion of devices / installations that follow the principles of Virtual / Augmented Reality is proposed, enriching the views with storytelling and gamification, so as to be partially usable also on the visitors' own devices, to promote their diffusion ( and marketing) on social media. The proposed intervention will lead to a more complete use not only of the archaeological area of the Central Baths, but also of the entire site of the ancient Aquinum, allowing you to admire and enhance the many and often imposing monumental remains that characterize the landscape in the 'surrounding area.
Project activities:
- Analysis and identification of the needs and peculiarities of the system and of the cultural heritage that insists on the municipal territory of Castrocielo and the neighboring terrors in a systemic vision of the Cultural Experience;
- Identification of calls for tenders for the topics explained in the previous point and in the elaboration of joint research projects;
- Elaboration of specific studies and actions to be shared with the scientific community with interested civil subjects on the previous topics through Conferences and Publications;
- Research, technological development and planning of experiences of use in general of Culture and multimedia and interactive contents suitable for its enhancement (user experience design).
